Debra Betts, New Zealand, har siden 1997 undervist jordemødre i obstetrisk akupunktur. Hun har også en akupunktur klinik, hvor hun har specialiseret sig i graviditet, fødsel og barsel. Desuden har Debra Betts skrevet en fremragende lærebog, udgivet 2006: The essential guide to Acupuncture in Pregnancy & Childbirth, det er indtil videre den bedste på markedet indenfor obstetrisk akupunktur. 

Debra Betts kommer til Akupunkturskolen i København og afholder workshop om akupunktur til understøttelse af graviditeten efter IVF, fødselsforberedende akupunktur, induktion af fødsel ved hjælp af akupunktur og akupunktur som supplerende behandling ved blodmangel.
Debra Betts er uddannet sygeplejerske og akupunktør.  

Debra Betts vil ud over teoretisk undervisning og orientering om relevante forskningsresultater, demonstrere brug af ørepresnåle i krops akupunktur punkter, lokalisation af de punkter hun anbefaler, videregive erfaringer med punktkombinationer mm. Der bliver god mulighed for at stille spørgsmål. 

Workshoppen henvender sig specielt til jordemødre, som kan noget akupunktur.

Obstetric Acupuncture
A weekend seminar for acupuncturists.

Fetal development
Western and traditional Chinese medicine views of foetal development (including channel theory, five phase development and the establishment of the shen, hun and po).

Supportive care in early pregnancy
Enhancing the uterine environment in early pregnancy; working with women following IVF embryo transfer; treating women with a history of recurrent miscarriage and those presenting with bleeding, including retroplacental or subchorionic haematoma; examination of Western medical and acupuncture research following embryo replacement and the practical application of this research to clinical practice.

Lifestyle advice

Induction protocols
Examining western medical research protocols and acupuncture approaches for inducing effective labour, according to differential diagnosis and western medical constraints.

Midwifery acupuncture
For 12 years midwives in New Zealand have been using acupuncture and acupressure in their practices after completing a short training course. Their support has led to acknowledgment from the Midwifery Council and the College of Midwives and has provided Debra with the opportunity to offer a hospital clinic with free pregnancy and postpartum care. Case histories will be presented from this clinic and from midwifery practice, with a focus on the treatments found to be the most effective.

Problem solving
Acupuncture treatment for problematic presentations such as: gestational diabetes, twin pregnancies, polyhydramnios and premature labour. There will be an emphasis on treating challenging clinical presentations - early enrollers will have the opportunity to send Debra suggestions for clinical problems they would like to see discussed in this part of the seminar
